Copywriting has its own set of rules. And trust me, they’re not the ones you learned in college or high school English class.
The good news is that you already learned one of them: standard grammar rules don’t always apply.
In copywriting, there’s no teacher to award you an ‘A’ grade but a customer who (if you’re lucky) will give you their attention.
Customers aren’t looking for perfect prose but a solution to a problem. And they need it as quickly as possible. So your job, as the copywriter, is to understand that problem and explain your solution.
In the next few posts, I will explain the differences between the rules of traditional writing and the rules of copywriting. If you want to learn to write in a way that inspires action, stay tuned.
You and I have a lot to (un)learn!
